I must post quickly, the energy I thought I had is now dwindling away... so here are a few pictures... and
hopefully tomorrow I'll have some new interesting things to post about...
Got this from Aunt Danni... on my early birthday present... awww....
The neighbor girl... who's name is Jessica recently turned 16... this is the surprise party her mom had for her tonight... it was fun... but very weird being around all that teenage angst...

SPD bathroom issues

Do you have toilet paper issues at your house?
We do.

Shane, is good at using the bathroom...(well, mostly)
 err more specifically the toilet--
however, it is a challenge
for him to only use a certain amount of toilet paper--
he tends to use a wadded up ball that is the size of a baseball/softball.

This morning, our second day back from Spring Break--
Shane decided that after eating cereal that he would take a shower with Daddy...
But first, Shane had to go #2...
Today Shane decided that instead of using the toilet paper he would us the cardboard roll... ACK!
The result was Daddy was ... err "mad" and then Shane was frustrated and upset.
Finally we got the kids to school, however we were late and then Shane kept putting his hands down his pants...
I took Shane into the bathroom, to help find out what was wrong--
his bottom was now red and somewhat irritated.[big surprise?!]
(Normally I keep baby powder in my purse for this reason, but I happened to leave my purse at home... )

As I was walking out of the school, I saw Shane's IA (instructional assistant) I let her know about the bottom issue-- she was really understanding about it... so hopefully -- it will be  a good day?

Last night I only liked ~ three of the singers on American Idol
Lee, Big Mike, and Crystal
I hope that the singing by the other contestants gets better SOON!

More Coast Pictures

Were you waiting around for more pictures?  That's nice...    ~ glad I could fill a need!
:) I think I am SO funny...

This is a "classic" picture of the kids, I was trying to get the background all centered in and then I needed to have them doing something, so I asked them to wave... good thing..
ahem...  I didn't want to see their faces!
The other day Shane came home with a Bionicle from his playdate, -- I let Shane bring it with us on the drive-- but Shane kept putting the bionicle in my hair... finally I took it away and since the kids had recently watched Short Circut-- the bionicle was "dissassembled..."  on the dashboard of the truck.
Today I was returned the Bionacle to Shane-- hopefully it will not need dissassemble today!

On our way back home, Jerry wanted to stop by one of his favorite fishing spots and show us the scenery-- Shane had been complaining that he just wanted to go home, but once he was outside and he found two sticks...
he was happy to just..."be"... a boy in the woods...with sticks...
I guess you could call this simple, priceless~ Joy?

New bike for Shane

Shane has a bike that isn't built for tricks, so we decided to get him one that would work better.(not for the tricks...but I do know that tricks will soon be happening)
Now, that I see Jessica on her bike and Shane on his new one... I think we will have to upgrade Jessica's -- she is getting to long and big for her!

This morning Shane was not swayed by the invitation that came from Jerry... "Shane get dressed so I can take you to get your surprise..."
It took a bit of time to explain to Shane that Daddy was going to find him a bike that worked better for him, Shane made Jessica pink-swear that she would not laugh at any of his choices...(Jessica went ahead and pinky-swore-- bless her heart)
The new bike has three brakes, and a kick stand-- it is a bit tall for Shane, but that hasn't slowed him down much... I am so glad that he wears his helmet each and every time he rides...!
Check it out... very well written and easy to read!

Sunny Day

The weather was nice today, sunny and only a bit of wind~
I have to confess that I seem to have a happier outlook on life when the weather is nicer. Shane had a great day at school... only about 4 or 5 time-outs (neither Shane nor the teacher could agree on how many) zero detentions! -- This week Shane, was/is allowed to have hot lunch-- The teacher reported that Shane ate his lunch with zeal-- and wasn't a behavior issue at all during lunch.
....hummmm
Then after lunch, Shane took the speech part of the schools' test for Autism, and I have never been more proud of my son-- he said, please, thank you, your welcome-- All this time I thought that my constant requests for "manners" were falling on deaf ears. I was wrong! He retained my comments! yahoo! It was a bit ummmm interesting when Shane told us (the speech teach & I)
I get time-outs when I sit on the carpet-- and then I raise my hand to ask a question~
Shane went on to say that he thought that was really stupid, getting time-outs for no reason!
Both the speech teacher and I explained to Shane that sometimes we have to just do what we are told.--- I don't think that he bought what we were selling... but we did make the attempt.:)

Later this week there is a trip to the orthodontist for Jessica, a kinder celebration for Shane, and also a trip to a local park for Shane, no school on Friday, and then our very last day of school is the 17th of June...
Jessica just thinks her teacher is the "best" and since she knows her teacher likes asparagus --that is what Jessica wants to give her as a gift---
what else should I put in a nice basket as a great teacher gift? Ideas?? Suggestions???

All About Shane~

I just wanted to share this video, of Shane at Therapy yesterday--
It has no sound- but the point was to get Shane
to keep his feet flat on the base, and then balance
his body on the blue bolster while throwing a bean bag in the inner tube.
I wanted to share this with all of you-- because I love the look of concentration on his face.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Shane is the..."king of weeds" notice the dandelions in his hands?-- he picked as many as he could and then tried to give them to me-- I asked that he instead throw them out the window as I drove... I'm not much for weeds that smell ...

Creating a 504 plan

Today, we had an appointment with the Developmental Pediatrician --
We worked together to create the 504 plan...
The Dr. also said that Shane doesn't fit enough criteria to have the ADHD label... but he does meet the Sensory Processing Disorder "label" -- and so that is what we will use on the 504 plan.
I have to say I was very happy that this Dr. was on the same page as I was!
The Dr. also reminded me that Shane is very smart, see this post:http://frogparenting.blogspot.com/2008/08/shane.html
and that he may possibly qualify for the TAG program next year--
- (they don't usually offer the TAG[talented and gifted]program until 1st grade)
I also found out that we are #7 on the list for the school that I want Shane to be at--
So, instead of making a bunch of phone calls and emails--
I am just going to Pray, and put all of this in God's hands and let His Will be Done.
