If you don't read here often this post might not make sense-- but then if you do read here often, you might still be shaking your head thinking I have lost my mind!
This last weekend we had Christmas with my mom's side of the family-- The kids were only supposed to come home with two gifts, one from another cousin- and one from Pete,Sara and Miles. Aunt Sara really knows how to buy for my kids, she got Jessica a bunch of cute tops-- in just the right colors and more importantly the right sizes. Aunt Sara also found two transformer toys that transformed into a SUV and a truck-- Shane is SO HAPPY. Thanks!
At first when I saw the train going around and around I thought it was a toy that was too young for Shane, but then I saw the Mini scooter mania-- and all the little teeny, tiny pieces,
I now Like (err, LOVE) the train that only goes around and around.
Jessica came home with variety pack of black velvet posters to color-- and a little plastic purse with lots of variety's of lip gloss-- I just hope the kids do NOT decide to put the lip gloss on their feet... (I know little feet "need" to smell good, but not with the help of LIP GLOSS!)
The oatmeal finally got to where it needed to be, but there was still drama associated with the delivery.
Both of the kids got these new re-usable lunch bags and so Jessica has been making lunches for both her brother and herself. I thought for a moment about "letting" Shane help-- and then I decided that Shane with a knife and peanut butter and jam -- might not be a good idea. I have been having Shane help put things on the table, that way he helps, but safely!
Tonight,after tasting dinner ~
Shane tells me " Mom, bbq sauce with chicken is JUST RAD, Mom... RAD!"
Ah, Joy !
American Idol-- There were some people who were expirencing a different reality, and then there were some contestants that made the little hairs on my arm stand up! One of the people that sticks out in my mind, is the guy at close to the end of the show that wore a green shirt and skinny jeans, he sang-- somewhat okay-- but he was very bland, he seemed to be lacking ambition to show why he was ... the NEXT American Idol -- The judges were trying to get him to be assertive and tell Simon to "Shut,up..." he just couldn't say it-- he had to say please....
Oh, gee I think he might just get pushed around during Hollywood week.--
Next week Jerry goes back to working nights and I am SO not excited to make the change-- our house is very small. We have what is an open floor plan, so it's not like you can go down a hallway into a room and sleep-- all the rooms are off of the living room and the walls -- well they don't do much to keep the sounds seperate!
I must go, one child in the bath, and one "making" lunch... I need to supervise!
Sharing our world of 2 great kids, one overworked husband, and me... Mommy~ Mommy~ where is the spoon for the peanut butter? Chaos, abounds!

A Day, good, and then drama --Hey, where's my socks?
The other night at bedtime Jessica was "pretending" -- she put on these glasses that we found on our hiking trip, and then the kids were reading books... I happened to be playing with my camera -- the kids BEGGED me to take their pictures--
For some reason all the pictures of Shane disappeared! weird!
Yesterday, was a Day...
When I picked Shane up -- I found out that he had zero time-outs and zero detentions! Plus, when he started to get twisty & twirly... he asked for a sensory break! The teacher replied in five minutes Shane... and Shane was able to wait the 5 minutes! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Shane decided that we had to go to the Dollar Tree/Store for a reward-- he was not impressed with the toys-- so we found an activity book that was all about Transformers--and he was happy!
When we went back to the school to pick up Jessica, the first words out of her mouth was, "Mommy, I can't bring home my laptop today, because I lost it..."

WHAT?????????????
I took a few moments to calm down, and then I asked -- Do we need to go back into the school and look for it? Jessica assured me that we didn't have to go and look for it-- she would just look in the morning. Once we were home, I went outside and called the school-- I left a message with the secretary to talk with the teacher --By about 5pm I didn't get a return phone call- :(
- so I sent an email and this morning I checked my email while the kids were getting ready for school~ The teacher replied, not to worry we will look for it, and then another email found it!
I was so happy to get that email... my blood pressure went down a bit! ah....
But, no morning would be complete without a bit of drama... it seems that we may have a sock thief in our home.... Both Jessica and Shane wear about the same size sock, and this morning no white ones seemed to be available!
Hummm.... I knew I had just washed and folded socks yesterday... and now none were to be found! I spoke with Jessica and told her that she would be working on finding socks when she got home from school... of course Shane overheard me... and so that was the first piece of information he shared with his teacher and his classmates..
Jessica was also adamant that I not talk about the "sock issue..." to her teacher... :)
... I might have to in the future ... if she doesn't find more socks!

Is your parenting life like this?
The picture of this girl,(after she gets off the Roller Coaster)
really shows us that even if we think
something will be fun and easy--
we can often be~
New Ohio Roller Coaster
The dips and turns of this ride-- really illustrates ~ parenting!
-- We think it will be fun, laughs and good times,
and it is-- but the after effects can be overwhelming!
Jessica and I are back from our visit to see the Pediatric Nephrologist ...
and the verdict is~
She is just fine, we will still give her the blood pressure medicine each day--
most likely for years-- but untill she starts going thru puberty
we won't know what will happen with her kidneys.
They did take an ultrasound of them,(her kidneys)
but I have yet to hear if they are "normal" for Jessica or not.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers---
Jessica did just fine, the only time she lost her smile and giggle
was when they took her blood-- Poor girl--
however~ she did receive a doll and some DORA playing cards!
We stopped by my cousin Jannet and Jeff's new house--- (cue the applause) is was Wonderfull! simply wonderful!
Jannet is a great resource of information ~on how to get what you need for your child -from the school. It was a great visit, I almost didn't want to leave! LOL!
Jerry, my dear hubby even did some laundry while I was gone! WOW! He gets some brownie points for that-- but then he was watching TRANSFORMERS, with Shane when we got home-- (this is like the 3rd or 4th time watching this...) Mommy wasn't completly happy-- but -- all in ALL -- it was a good day!
Ah, well... Check back here to see what I retain--
I'll attempt to pass any good nuggets of advice on to you!
