He's doing GREAT!

Things have been REALLY good for our family lately, --  I have been able to get some PTO stuff done without too much drama.., Jessica loves her new teacher, Jerry has been working late-- but sleeping well... and Shane...
Shane usually earns 45 minutes of video game time each day-- if he has had a good school day. After his  homework is done and then a short list of easy chores, I let him play. He will set up the game and set the microwave timer all by himself.   Lately, he has been pushing the issue, his time will end I remind him that the timer beeped and then he will not look up but beg to play till the game is over.   Just the other day I said No...you need to STOP now. He quit and then had a meltdown in his room he came out and was arguing and rude to me.  Finally, I told him, If you want to eat dinner-- then you need to write me a letter of apology and explain why you are so angry.  It took him a while but then he finally wrote me this letter:  I am sorry for being rude.  I hope you can accept this apology. To make up for the yelling, I will not play video games on the next day.
Oh, what a lovely son I have! ... I explained to him that I would accept his apology, but that he would only loose 5 minutes,. He was fine... and well behaved the rest of the day!
He has been doing FINE at school... he did tell the lunch lady that he would wait right here for that chicken sandwich thank you. .... they ran outta chicken sandwiches and he was going to wait for one! ... :)    Th lunch lady  thought that Shane was so cute, direct and to the point ! It was nice to hear that didn't end up in a meltdown...
My almost 9 year old SPD kiddo is getting more mature! Ah,.... Joy !
