It was a God filled day....

A while back I got a CD~~ Seeds of Courage, from a blogger friend of mine--
[thanks Heather @ three loud monkeys]
So, this morning on our way to church the kids and I were listening, and (singing/yelling along)--
Track #2 is Do not be anxious-- Philippians 4:6-7
Shane wanted to know what "the piece of God" had to do with the verse-- I was driving so when we got to church we tried to remember which track -- I couldn't figure it out so we decided to leave the question until after church.
The funny thing is that during service, our Pastor was speaking (Luke 4:1-2) about how when Jesus came to live as a human, he was not only all GOD, but also all human, and that he had no sin nature, and he did not use his divine powers. Our Pastor was speaking about how during the time (40 days and 40 nights) in the desert Jesus, was baptized in the Holy Spirit.
I felt like a light bulb had gone off inside my head-- I thought the piece of God from the song meant that Jesus was the piece of God....
I just got out my Bible again to figure out which track matched up with which verse and I read that Philippians 4: 6-7 the piece is PEACE.....
Even though a piece of God and peace of God are different--
it sure seemed to me that both fit the day.
I have an Aunt who has had a difficult life,(childhood and adult) and so she tends to be difficult to interact with -- she has such creativity and depth-- but the constant need to dictate, really makes it hard to see her with loving eyes, not to mention loving ears.
Late last evening I received news, from her daughter-- my cousin-- that she had been hurt by one of her ponies and she was in the hospital with 3 broken ribs and a punctured lung. I was asked to pass along the news, and as I did through texts,Facebook and phone calls I found myself so thankful for today's technology.
And yet, I also found myself frustrated with comments that weren't loving in spirit. I am still stumped when people can't let go of the past, to focus on the moment -- let alone the need for prayer. I tried for a time to bridge this gap between getting the news across and asking for prayer. Finally, I decided that I had shared the news and that must have to be enough.
After we got home from church~
I sent off a text for an update and I found out SO much...
-- even though my Aunt had one of her three ribs broken twice-- she was still better today than last evening.
-- an "old biker dude" laid hands on my Aunt and asked to pray for healing
--my cousin and my Uncle were able to leave a message with my other cousin who has .. been estranged from the family

Maybe this injury to my Aunt will help her to have a relationship with God, and maybe my other cousin will come back into the family because of this? I can only think of the verse that started this post....Philippians 4:6-7 ... Do Not Be Anxious!

So, today I ask for prayers for healing and transforming of spirit-- I also ask that prayers of patience so that the hurts of old, do not overwhelm the current need for love.

I hope your day was filled with the Glory of the Lord and that it was a good day!

Hey Stacey! I'm finally catching up on some blog reading. I'm so glad you're still like the SOFW CD. We play ours almost constantly...are you waking up with the songs in your head yet?

How's your aunt? Lovely insights you shared!
