2 day ==What a day !

On the way to church this morning, Shane was telling me how, he doesn't need me to guide him anymore, that all he needs is Daddy and God.--- I answered back that
" God told me, I do need to guide him and with Daddy and God to help me,
Shane would be well "guided"."
Today, he seems to want to show his independence, and I am all for that, except that he wants the perks of a Mommy and none of the consequences of his in-actions!
I thought I would go to the fabric store today after church, what a ...BAD plan...
Shane and Jessica were happy to attempt to demolish the store, by "dancing" and sliding around-- I bet they made a cute picture, however, I was annoyed... and then when one lady in the store added her two cents, by saying, "But, mom they are just being kids...!" [I responded back, Yes, they are but I can just see the bolts of fabric come crashing down.]
When we got to the counter and the nice lady with purple hair was ringing up my purchases, I noticed that the patterns weren't 99cents --like they were yesterday
--Darn it... I had only planned on spending $5.00 or less --not $ 20.00 -- so I had to put the two patterns back . I was very sad and embarrassed!
Then my phone rang and the kids decided again not follow directions!
  • While driving, there were 3 cars that needed relief drivers! ---
  • They passed me in a bike lane,
  • they didn't follow the 4 way stop directions, and
  • they seemed to think that a turn signal is not always necessary!
AGH! wah, wah, wah!

I guess my prayers at church were of the wrong topic, I will sign off now and pray some on these topics, along with my anger at others and their lack of consideration for ME!

Can I get a little cheese, with my wine? After all we did... have Communion at church today!
++++the picture on the top is from yesterday,
the two on the bottom are from today+++++++++

Eclectic things for today ~

Jessica wearing a necklace from my Grandma, a hat of my grandpa's and a ...vintage apron !

Shane with Grandpa on the lawnmower~

Jessica reading a box to Shane, What is a Wookiee?--- (Jessica chose the book)

Just about 10minutes ago,
I was going to post about how to get my dear son motivated to go outside,
(I want to get some fabric to make some burp cloths, like I saw at the blog, Rocks in My Dryer)
and then it started to rain or snow, I'm not really sure what to call the stuff that was falling, it was wet like rain-- but it seemed almost white ~ The kids got their socks, boots and coats on and I set the timer for 20 minutes--- Hopefully there will only be happy, wet play...

So, I guess the weather is what is a great motivator!~
Too bad Mommy has moved on to other things...! AGH! such is life!

Blog to visit...

Because of Slurping Life,
I found a new to me blog that needs some visitors,
Please go see and donate if you can, even the gift of a comment !

If you are in the mood to read good stuff-

Today...
I spent some time out in blog-land...
(is that really a word?-- who cares I just made it one!)
when I should of been cleaning and organizing--
However ,
I did find a few blogs that I hope to go back to and gain knowledge from!
I only got to read a few of the posts --- I need to get busy cleaning, and such---

But certainly worth checking out...in my honest opinion!

I think it's a "God" thing...

Yesterday, the kids, Jerry and I went to my grandparents' home to "help" clean-up and organize.

To say that this was a big job is not really the best description~
Many people in my family have the need to save and dare I say ... hoard?

I only spend my time in the small bathroom, but the quantity of items I found was, stunning!

After counting 7 ~I didn't continue to count the toothbrushes still in the packages,or the jars of OIL of OLAY, still unopened, the amount of things that Grandma and Grandpa had saved was really OVER the TOP.

Having the kids with me, created some problems, how to keep them busy and not disturb any stuff that was already organized.

I gave them washcloths and they spent their time washing the walls, floors, and windows.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Anyway... I finally finished what I had done in the bathroom and we loaded the cabinet in our trailer, while it was snow/raining on us--
We got home and I took a break -- I put on the the TV and happened to catch OPRAH, talking about hoarders-- WOW...
What a moment-- it was clear to me that my need to nest and make homey can go frightfully wrong---

So, to not become worst than I am, and to keep myself apart from the Hoarding gene,
I plan to clean and give away, get rid of and make some serious changes!

I hope that by posting this here,
I will keep motivated to Keep Moving Forward! (Meet the Robinsions')

Yesterday -- was a much fuller day than I had expected
We ended up going over to my Grandparents' home and ---coming home with stuff--
(My grandparents are now at an Assisted living place near my parents}
So, my Aunt Sue is in town from Colorado to help clean up and organize for a future auction.
Today, we go back over there to help some more-- although I don't know how much help we are when the kids come with us...
I got some great pictures of Shane ...helping Grandpa drive the riding lawnmower-- Jessica drove it also--- but the pictures of Shane are too funny! I plan to stop at Walmart and make a few into pictures .(I figure that a good picture of Grandpa and grandson might make a nice gift...)
I was also able to give away the two piece dress that I made to the little girl from Shane's classroom--However, I think this little girl will only be able to wear it for a short time.--Ah, well-- maybe I can find another girl that needs a pretty top and shirt to love !
The look on the mom's face when I pulled out the top and the dress, it was enough to keep me sewing for a long time to come! ....Ah, the Joy!

My husband was nice enough to install our digital converter boxes-- and WOW! Not one but four channels of OPB....I am in HEAVEN!

I am needed to help push our trailer around so I will sign off till another time!

Happy to be BACK! --did you miss me?

These are pictures of our family from Easter -- we are at church in Shane's classroom, maybe not the best lighting, but we were all to-gether and the kids were,{hard to believe, but} clean!

I am finally back to posting..... yeah! (Can I get an Oh, yeah?---Oh, yeah!)

Thanks for your patience! And now...

Here are some pictures of my sewing projects that I completed while I was unable to be on-line!

As happy as I am, this "new" computer isn't super fast either---
so I will lower my expectations until I win the lottery and am able to have the fastest coolest computer EVER! LOL!

By the way.... Jerry let me put the "ugly truck" up for sale on Craigslist ... So..if you know anyone who needs to have a very unique truck in their driveway...instead of mine--- Just let me know!

Happy to be back posting!
Later...gator!

I must be crazy....

After viewing the pictures of Jessica, from the post below...
-- I decided that I needed to make her a Easter Sunday dress--
(I know Easter is this Sunday and I am really pushing my luck with the universe--}
{I used fabric from my stash, and we found the pattern at St Vinny's for only .50cents!--The fabric was supposed to be curtains for my bathroom way back in the 1990's when I lived alone-- it looks similar to feminine wallpaper-- baby pink and blue-- it also happens to be a one-way design and the fabric wasn't as wide as the pattern called for... }

So~~ the dress is a "creation"-- No one else on Earth...
(Hey~ that's a song lyric...) anyway-
- no one else on Earth will have a dress just like this one..
.{some might Thank God for that}
I love to sew and create, but I have found that since my daughter is on the thin and tall side, my sewing skills are lacking ~
I start like any sewer might... -- measure Jessica -,then pin the pattern on the fabric ,measure again.. and cut--- with my power scissors!
Next, I try to sew while she is gone at school--
and somehow I end up with a "dress-creation"
that even if it is cute.. it really is 2 sizes too big...!
I feel like I should give it to one of the four or five girls that I know will fill it out...
although I made it expressly for Jessica and I do have plans to make the other girls something cute...
I guess I just want to see it worn with love and looking sweet---
(I know Jessica will wear it and it will be cute,
but I just wish she was a little "fatter" to fill it out)
It looks great on the hanger,---
I did do some alterations to make it smaller... but I need a more experienced seamstress~

I guess I will just file this post in the Why do I want what I don't have?

The dress is done, but it needs to be hemmed and trimmed some -
- so check back to see the pictures~
Please do leave some comments...!
thanks!

On the Leanin' side !

A dear friend of mine(Patty) sent this to me,
I saved it in my in-box,
intending to send it out once
I had cleaned some of the junk out of my in-box--
However~ Life got in the way
Shane came home from school on thursday with possible pink-eye
Now, that it is Saturday morning, I am not so happy to report --I may have pink-eye
What happened to sharing GOOD STUFF?
So, anyway--- prop me & mine up on the leanin' side!
Every time I am asked to pray, I think of the old deacon who always prayed, "Lord, prop us up on our leanin' side. " After hearing him pray that prayer many times, someone asked him why he prayed that prayer so fervently. He answered, 'Well sir, you see, it's like this...I got an old barn out back. It's been there a long time, it's withstood a lot of weather, it's gone through a lot of storms, and it's stood for many years. It's still standing. But one day I noticed it was leaning to one side a bit. So I went and got some pine poles and propped it up on its leaning side so it wouldn't fall. Then I got to thinking about that and how much I was like that old barn. I've been around a long time. I've withstood a lot of life's storms I've withstood a lot of bad weather in life, I've withstood a lot of hard times, and I'm still standing too. But I find myself leaning to one side from time to time, so I like to ask the Lord to prop us up on our leaning side, cause I figure a lot of us get to leaning, at times. Sometime we get to leaning toward anger, leaning toward bitterness, leaning toward hatred, leaning toward cussing, leaning toward a lot of things that we shouldn't. So we need to pray, 'Lord, prop us up on our leaning side, so we will stand straight and tall again, to glorify the Lord.

Spring Pictures...I do it myself!

To the photographer at LifeTouch who took this photo, What were you thinkin?
I understand that you need to pose the kids in a certian way, I also understand that you have to frame the child --- but do you have to make them look like THIS><>?
I love my daughter and I think she ...just happens to be beautiful-- but I just don't understand how this picture came to be... Honestly!
It's bad enough that I have the proof-- I won't be spending any money to buy any more copies of this picture!
So, I guess I will get the kids looking cute...
and then take a "Spring" picture of them myself!

Thanks!

Tuesday in Pictures!

After taking Jessica to school, and then dropping off my over-due library books I pulled over to take this picture~ I thought is was interesting to see the Sun rise, through the clouds, and the little bit of blue at the top of the picture!

In this picture I pointed my camera at a puddle, and this a GREAT mirror-image!

Dull... nope I don't think so!

It really is never dull---

you may stop and think maybe it is--

but then Reality steps in!

gotta love that "Reality"

it's sooooo much fun!

On Sunday, I went to church full of good Spirit for the weekend, when our Pastor Dave, asked us to turn to the person next to us and pray for something that each might need, I couldn't think of ANYthing that I needed. (execept my friend Michelle and her family to get healthy) Since my sister-in-law was sitting next to me, we prayed mainly for her and their fiances~ We thanked GOD, for the blessings of our family and that we weren't...sick~ and then..

Tuesday-- Jessica stayed home

with a cough that just sounds BAD...

Today, her teacher even asked me to keep her home from school-- so that she can get better soon. Her teacher mentioned that there are many in the class with Kleenex on their desks-I even heard a rumor of walking pneumonia! AGHH!!! Thanks, but no thanks, I'll be keeping Jessica home and doing my best to beat this sickness to a pulp!

Since Jessica takes over the counter medicine *see picture above*
that is specifically for High Blood Pressure--however the dosing doesn't accommodate for small children have high blood pressure-- and the little insert suggests that by controlling the things listed below, a person can control their high blood pressure~

  • Obesity(Jessica is only 45 pounds)

  • Eating too much salt (I don't cook with it, Jerry won't let me)

  • Alcohol (oh, please...!)

  • lack of exercise (She is more active than most kids I've seen)

While I am sure that applies to most people who take this medicine... it certainly doesn't apply to my child! --- My mother's heart is hurt!

Thanks for letting me whine some....

I had plans for this weekend that will now be

on hold...instead it will be

all about helping Jessica rest her body

so that she can get back to school and "normal" soon!

I really wanted to post about Shane and his visit with the 4J school district, about my complaints with our PTO at Jessica's school~about waiting impatiently for my nephew to get BORN! -- However, I need to just put those things off until another time...!

Our Day at the Alvord Farm and Museum

This is a group picture of most of us, who learned new and exciting things about rocks!
This is the outside of the building where we learned lots of stuff...
This is Karen Rainsong --- who is working hard to improve and develop this museum to be a Eugene staple!
This is the geologist, talking about the different rocks...
This is when he tested for calcite.
There is much more to be said at another time...I need to make dinner!
Check- back soon!

These are some pictures from our trip to talk with a REAL live Geologist!
