My daughter Jessica is still re-covering from E coli ,;
In my humble and honest opinion...the blog above is written by the BEST E coli lawyer in the business! It is very informative and easy to read, Mr Marler is a very personable lawyer-- he knows just how devastating food borne illnesses are.

Please go read,comment and link to your blog ---
People, families,mothers,fathers need to know this information!
(Really, anyone who eats food!)

trip to the dentist!

Today...

Shane was being very creative while waiting to go to the Dentist for a check-up, he created a track for his cars with crayons and pencils!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, here are some pictures of our visit to the Dentist
We had no cavities...Yay!!!!
but-- we did have some tears and crying
when it was time to leave, the super-cool playroom had a TRANSFORMER toy--
that Shane really wanted to take home---
So, my job as Mom... is to find this toy in the store while Shane is at school!
Wish me LUCK!
By the way...Jessica still has one kidney smaller than the other, but that might just be normal for her... and her blood work came back normal! YAY!
Dinner at the OUTBACK, and then~
Well... I knew things were going to well to be true---
Honestly! --- We took the kids to the OUTBACK restaurant last night-- Shane and Jessica both had the mac & cheese they seemed to be happy -- Shane was rather well behaved and he just seemed to be interested in only eating! (Unusual concept for him....) Jessica ate what she could and then was content to color ! At the very end of the meal Shane started to get wiggly-- he wanted to dance -- we had to explain that you could only dance in your seat-- he decided to dance under our feet-- since we were in a booth! Oh the Joy's !
The kids and Jerry shared a Thunder from down under for dessert-- I wish I had had my camera it was a SWWEEEEETTTTT picture!
-------- As we were walking out Shane was dancin' his way out the door-- I bet people thought we were from another planet! -- {I thought we were-- miss-placed aliens!}
Everyone went to bed just fine... no arguments ... no complaints!
Then about 2 am Shane woke up and was in the bathroom pukin....
It is 2 pm as I type this and he finally has taken a nap-- hopefully the pukies are finished for today!
Is your parenting life like this?
The picture of this girl,(after she gets off the Roller Coaster)
really shows us that even if we think
something will be fun and easy--
we can often be~
Wrong!
New Ohio Roller Coaster
The dips and turns of this ride-- really illustrates ~ parenting!
-- We think it will be fun, laughs and good times,
and it is-- but the after effects can be overwhelming!
Jessica and I are back from our visit to see the Pediatric Nephrologist ...
and the verdict is~
She is just fine, we will still give her the blood pressure medicine each day--
most likely for years-- but untill she starts going thru puberty
we won't know what will happen with her kidneys.
They did take an ultrasound of them,(her kidneys)
but I have yet to hear if they are "normal" for Jessica or not.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers---
Jessica did just fine, the only time she lost her smile and giggle
was when they took her blood-- Poor girl--
however~ she did receive a doll and some DORA playing cards!
We stopped by my cousin Jannet and Jeff's new house--- (cue the applause) is was Wonderfull! simply wonderful!
Jannet is a great resource of information ~on how to get what you need for your child -from the school. It was a great visit, I almost didn't want to leave! LOL!
Jerry, my dear hubby even did some laundry while I was gone! WOW! He gets some brownie points for that-- but then he was watching TRANSFORMERS, with Shane when we got home-- (this is like the 3rd or 4th time watching this...) Mommy wasn't completly happy-- but -- all in ALL -- it was a good day!
This weekend the kids and I ~ get to go to a day long parenting workshop--- I am very excited I hope that I can retain all the information I need--- ! Hahaha
Ah, well... Check back here to see what I retain--
I'll attempt to pass any good nuggets of advice on to you!
(Next time you're found with your chin on the ground)
(There's a lot to be learned so look around)
Just what makes that little ole ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant?
Anyone knows an ant can't
Move a rubber tree plant
{But he's got hi-i-igh hopes, he's got hi-i-igh hopes}
{He's got high apple pi-i-ie-in-the-sk-y-y hopes}
So, any time you're gettin' low, 'stead of lettin' go, just remember that ant
Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant
(Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant)
{Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant}
(When troubles call and your back's to the wall)
(There a lot to be learned that wall could fall)
Once there was a silly old ram
Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram scram
He kept buttin' that dam
{'cause he had hi-i-igh hopes, he had hi-i-igh hopes}
{He had high apple pi-i-ie-in-the-sk-y-y hopes}
So, any time your feelin' bad, 'stead of feelin' sad, just remember that ram
Oops, there goes a billion-kilowatt dam
(Oops, there goes a billion-kilowatt dam)
{Oops, there goes a billion-kilowatt dam }
(A problem's just a toy balloon, they'll be bursted soon)
(They're just bound to go pop)
Oops, there goes another problem ker-plop
(Oops, there goes another problem ker-plop)
{Oops, there goes another problem ker-plop}
(Ker-plop!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We made it to the library- for some extra reading and watching material
- since we are celebrating President's Day!
{a weird thing happened while at the library, we had just got done checking the books out and we were trying to walk thru the security things...Jessica reached over and pressed the wheelchair button a bunch, I asked her to "Just stop pressing that and -- go thru the door" when we got out of the library and into the lobby-- I asked Jessica what was wrong-- she seemed to be really defiant with me-- very unusual for...her~ She just stood there and looked at me, the next thing I know she is crying! AGH! I felt so terrible-- I may of not said the "right" thing-- but I didn't think I was mean-- and yet she was crying !}

Then~ I put the kids down to sleep on Saturday night and Jessica was complaining about her throat being scratchy-- I should of known something was up!
Well... something was up--- ALL of Jessica's food for the day!
So, I was on The Clean~up the Throw~up Crew-- party of one!
I was also trying hard to create a cool, fun, puzzle for the kinder and first graders at Jessica's school-- We are having a Book Fair and I am trying to create, BUZZ for the event-

-- Our Theme from Scholastic is Road Trip !
Take a Road Trip of Reading!
I am creating a secret code for the kids, I had already created the one for the older kids but the younger ones had me stumped---
Untill I found out that Dr. Seuss will be 104 on March 2nd!
I was printing,cutting and pasteing(sp?)-- anyway
I have a lot on my to do list this week, Jessica has school on Tuesday, Shane doesn't, Jerry has a meeting at work on Tuesday, and then he has to help Brandon(our step-son) get some current ID. Shane has school on Wednesday, and he goes to and from on the bus, Jessica get out of school early on Wednesday--
But the big thing for me (and Jessica) is that Jessica and I will be travelling to PDX to see the kidney Dr.-- and although I know that it will most likely just be a regular check-up --
I am still nervous and unsure-- Jessica will have to miss the whole day from school-- Jerry is going to stay home and be with Shane-- so that Shane doesn't miss school.

So, I am asking for prayer--- That I will be confident in spirit, that I will be postive in my comments and helpful -- so that Jessica doesn't worry and is calm about any information we might find out!
(They plan to ultrasound her kidneys-- and possibly will take blood, and her blood pressure)(As I read this it sounds less than my Mommy's heart feels~)agh!

~~~~ I woke up this morning from my dream that I was a Who in Whoville -- but someone was insisting that I was their Mommy... and that they needed me now...! ~~~~~~~~~
I guess my parenting bubble was burst?!
Justice League,My Friend Rabbit, and a Race!
Recently, Shane watched the Justice League and he decided that he needed a tool belt
This is his tool belt dis-assembled!
Saturday mornings on QuBo~ there are shows that are often Christian based
My Friend Rabbit~
RABBIT Who is Rabbit? Hmm... that's a toughie. Better hop-think on it!• He’s a furry, fun-seeking missile• The MacGyver of the forest• The wunderbunny of brainstormingBut mostly, he's Mouse’s constant companion and closest friend.Rabbit is the guy we all wanted for a best friend. He makes up the best games and never excludes anyone. He creates weird and wonderful ‘inventions’ that are a blast to play with, like moon-catchers, pondi-floaters and fabulous flippers. He’s always coming up with the most interesting ideas, and when faced with a problem, he always comes up with solutions that are just crazy enough to work!Exciting, "charismatic", and a genuinely nice guy. Who wouldn’t want to be friends with Rabbit?
As I was watching with the kids I heard Rabbit say, carrotastic!
I just thought it was so funny, I had to share!
This morning, as I drink my coffee,post on here and look out the window I see fog, but thru the fog I see runners lots of runners going past my house!
-- There must be a race going on and our house is on the route--- Should I get some plastic cups and stand out offering the runners water?
Shane cheers all of them on, "Go, red, go blue... race faster-- you go fast!"
What a sweet boy I have, and positive too!
Ah, the Joy's !
The spell check feature is still not working...AGH!!!!!!!!!
The Joy's of mine...
When I was little and I used to dream about being a mom, I always thought that I would have a lovely house with a wrap around porch-- of course it would be two stories tall-- it would have nooks and cranies here and there for just the right nick- nack.It would even be self-cleaning! (What a concept!)
Wake up people.... this is not a dream -- or a dress-reheursel --
Life is what you make it, start working!
I often think back to this dream and smile some-- I don't think it ever occured to me that the moments I might treasure wouldn't be so...pollyannaish(i finally created my own word!, and the crowd goes wild!-- wild with what you say? use your imagination!~)LOL!
Jessica went fishing with her father and his friend,Clyde
from work--- here is a converstation they had...
Jerry "So, Jessica are you going to out- fish Clyde and me?"
Jessica "Yup, I am going to out fish you both! "
Jessica "Hey, Daddy-- the fish on the stringer are still alive and moving--"
Jerry "Well, when we cut their heads off and strip their guts out then they won't!"
Jessica "Yup, I guess then.. they will be dead?"
Clyde, poor guy just shakes his head!
Jessica did out fish the guys, but she also peed her pants while trying to get to the BUCK toliets-- poor girl-- She was so proud that she outfished the guys-- she even caught the biggest fish! When she got home I made her a warm bath and told her how happy I was that she is a great fisherman(woman/girl?) ah the Joy's of motherhood!
While standing in the bathroom and looking at his poop, Shane says,
"Mommy did you know that my poop helps the water to expand in the toliet?"
I am just here to feed the kids, wash the clothes,supervise the teeth and hair brushing~
I pray every night for the wisdom to answer all the questions and comments-- and to not stop any possible learning no matter the topic!
Oh, the Joy's !
Once again the spell chek feature is not working... I will attempt to edit this later to fix the spelling-- untill then put on your Rose colored glasses to read! Thanks!
via email !
This was sent to me via email and it was so funny-- I just had to share!
One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.
I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident.
Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.
My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!'
My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up.
Then she says, 'Did it ever occur to you that the only place that baby can reach to get water is the toilet?'
Happy No Cavity day!
Jessica got this beautiful ring while at the the Dentsit office today, she had zero cavities!!!! She does need to see the orthadontist-- .
This is a picture I found from My brother's wedding-- what a nice smile, sorry it's blurry-- I took a picture of a picture! Shane had a GREAT day at school today, he was being pestered by another kid and instead of hitting or yelling he just said," You, aren't being nice and held up his hand to say STOP being mean! I was so very happy ! This day in motherhood is good and blessed !
My check spelling feature isn't working...sorry!
things kids say~
This morning while waiting in line at the drive-thru for the bank~
Jesssica~ "Mommy...if I wake up tomorrow and I don't have very much voice then we can stay home from church-- I don't want to get the other kids sick."
Mommy~ "Well, maybe if you can't go I will go by myself?-- Or I could take Shane--
Shane would you like to go ? Or you could stay home and pray?"
Shane~ "Yes, I would like to go--- But how do I pray?"
Mommy~ "You just put your hands together and ask God for what you need-- remember to tell HIM you love HIM."
Shane~ "Dear God I love you soooo very much, will you please make it rain? Thank you I really like the rain!"
Jessica " Dear God will you please make sure that everyone has food, all the strangers and the homeless people too?--I am sure they love you just like me, Thank you God!"
I really have two great kids, my heart is full of JOY!
I wanted to record this converstaion, but I couldn't while we were in the car---and now that I re-read it I think I missed a few moments--
In Honor of Erma Bombeck,and another Erma I loved
IN honor of women's history month and in memory of Erma Bombeck who lost her fight with cancer.
IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck (written after she found out she was dying from cancer).
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day. I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage. I would have talked less and listened more. I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded. I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace. I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth. I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband. I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed. I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains. I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life. I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime. Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that t he wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle. When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, 'Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.' There would have been more 'I love you's', More 'I'm sorry's.' But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute..look at it and really see it . Live it and never give it back. STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!
Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.
Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.
HAVE A GREAT DAY....LIFE IS NOT A REHEARSAL!!!
There is another Erma that is near and dear to me, she was my Grandmothers' sister, but to me she was always Grandma Erma-- In all my memories of her she has gray hair and a warm welcoming smile-- she smoked alot and so she had wrinkles on her face, but that never stopped her from smiling and giving a hug-- Her voice was kinda like the smoking sisters on The Simpsons, but the things she said were always nice. She certainly had her own way of looking at life, but she seemed to take each moment for what it was. Her favorite thing to collect was Owls-- you really can't imagine how many she had--! Erma had a too short of Life, but she filled every second of it- till the very end.~ I miss her much
